Standardize data capture, and automate quality assurance checks

Data quality is of great importance to researchers. At every stage of the data life-cycle requires some form of data quality checks: from data collection, curation, analysis, and finally publication. LabKey Server provides an array of different features to ensure that researchers are producing and working with the highest quality data.

Data Collection

LabKey Server helps researchers collect better data from the very beginning. This can be as simple as providing drop-downs to constrain user entry or more in-depth through the use of complex scripts that check and transform data before it is entered into the database. Data validators and range checks are also provided to ensure that the right data is entered into the system.

For more information on data collection quality controls, read related documentation available on the LabKey Support Portal:

Data Curation

When managing and curating data, LabKey Server lets you rate your data row-by-row using customized states that fit your project.

For more information on data management and curation quality controls, read related documentation available on the LabKey Support Portal:

Assay Specific Quality Controls

Many assay types provide specialized quality control mechanisms. For example, when working with Luminex data in LabKey Server, you can flag data for exclusion from analysis, track quality control metrics using Levey-Jennings plots, and flag outliers based on expected values.
