For an initial evaluation of LabKey Server on an English-language Windows machine, use the graphical Windows installer. For production Windows installations, use the binaries or manual installation. For non-Windows operating systems, use the Linux/Unix/Mac binaries for manual installation.
We are consistently looking for ways to improve the download, installation and set-up process for LabKey Server Community Edition users. Please complete this brief survey to help us enhance the experience for future users.
LabKey Server is an enterprise-class, open source software system written in Java that stores data in a relational database and runs on Apache Tomcat.
Computers that run Windows 8, 7, or Vista and have up-to-date service packs can run LabKey Server. LabKey Server may run on other versions of Windows as well, but only versions of LabKey Server compatible with these four versions of Windows are available for download from this site. If you would like to install and run LabKey on your local computer for evaluation, we would like to encourage you to do so. If you are running Windows, we strongly recommend that you use theGraphical Windows Installer (see below).
Graphical Windows Installers
You can use the graphical Windows installer to install or upgrade LabKey. Please note that you can only upgrade a LabKey installation if it was originally installed with the graphical installer.
Manual Installation or Upgrade
To install or upgrade LabKey Server manually on Windows or Unix/Linux, download the LabKey Server components in the zip or tar.gz archive, then follow the manual install instructions or the manual upgrade instructions.
