Scientific Technical Account Manager

We are looking for a Scientific Technical Account Manager to join our team!

We are seeking a mission-driven Scientific Technical Account Manager with experience in biologics research and development (R&D) to join our Services team.

LabKey provides data management solutions to help researchers tackle some of today’s most challenging problems.

You will leverage your interpersonal skills and technical know-how to deliver outstanding data management solutions that support cutting-edge biomedical research. In particular, we are looking for candidates with experience in the R&D of biologics such as antibodies, enzymes, or peptides. As a Technical Account Manager, you will be responsible for:

Client Success

  • Leading the implementation of data management solutions for biologics-focused clients.
  • Developing a deep understanding of customers’ research, workflows, data management needs, and challenges.
  • Triageing, addressing and resolving support tickets efficiently, including subject matter exports when needed.
  • Serving as the primary communication point for assigned clients.
  • Supporting multiple clients simultaneously while demonstrating a strong commitment to customer success.
  • Participating in product demos, pre-sales meetings, training sessions, and user conferences as needed.

Technical Expertise & Support

  • Becoming an expert in LabKey products, their architecture and best practices.
  • Providing technical support, including troubleshooting, issue reproduction, and coordination with subject matter experts.
  • Collaborating with client research and technical teams to help them understand, adopt, and use LabKey software to support their work.
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams and customers throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services.

Continuous Improvement

  • Conveying client feedback and feature requests to the Product and Development teams and act as an internal advocate for the client.
  • Adapting to shifting priorities based on internal initiatives and client needs.
  • Demonstrating a genuine interest in building a great product and contributing to a strong team culture.

 

Preferred Background and Skills

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific and/or computational discipline.
  • Work experience in or supporting R&D of biologics, such as antibodies, enzymes, peptides, or related areas including protein engineering, molecular cloning, and cellular immunotherapy.

Scientific Background

  • Understanding of scientific research workflows, methods, and instruments (e.g. discovery workflow, process development workflows, sample and plate preparation, assay execution).
  • Experience performing or supporting biologics R&D (e.g., antibody, enzyme, or peptide development).
  • Experience with research and scientific data management systems such as entity and assay registration tools, laboratory information systems (LIMS), and electronic laboratory notebook platforms (ELN).

Technical Abilities

  • Experience with LabKey products or similar scientific data management platforms.
  • Ability to write scripts in SQL, R, Python, or JavaScript for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
  • Comfortable with configuring complex software systems and troubleshooting issues.
  • Familiar with data and database structures.
  • Experience working with systems that integrate data from multiple sources, such as building or maintaining ETL processes, using APIs, and connecting to databases.

Client and Project Management Skills

  • Commitment to customer success through onboarding, adoption and long-term engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and accountable.
  • Experience using common business and CRM tools (e.g. Google Workplace, Microsoft Office Suite, HubSpot or equivalents).

Pay Range: $36.00hr – $50.00hr
