About LabKey Server
LabKey Server is an open source web application written in Java that stores data in a relational database and runs on Apache Tomcat.
Computers that run Windows 7, Vista, XP or 2000 and have up-to-date service packs can run LabKey Server. Labkey Server may run on other versions of Windows as well, but only versions of LabKey Server compatible with these four versions of Windows are available for download from this site. If you would like to install and run LabKey on your local computer for evaluation, we would like to encourage you to do so. If you are running Windows, we strongly recommend that you use the Graphical Windows Installer (see below).
LabKey Server is a complex, enterprise-class software system. If you plan to install LabKey for production use by your group or institution, we strongly encourage you to contact the LabKey technical services team for hands-on assistance. Installation will go most smoothly when LabKey Server is installed on a designated web server under the guidance of your network administrator and with our help.
Graphical Windows Installers
You can use the graphical Windows installer to install or upgrade LabKey. Please note that you can only upgrade a LabKey installation if it was originally installed with the graphical installer.
