Software Product Management Intern

LabKey is looking for an Intern to support our Products team.

LabKey provides data management solutions to help research, and other organizations pair the flexibility of a custom solution with enterprise-level scalability to support scientific workflows. We help scientists tackle some of today’s most challenging problems by creating and delivering outstanding software solutions that support e.g., public health research, vaccine and therapeutic development, and disease pathogenesis.

 

About the Product Management Internship

The ideal intern candidate is a highly organized student or recent graduate interested in product management. This intern will support product management and product strategy development. This role participates in the research processes and strategy frameworks for a clinical trial/study data management product.

  • Requires a three-month commitment
  • Three to five days a week
  • 10 to 20 hrs. a week

 

Intern Responsibilities

  • Support product strategy development and research efforts by participating in market research and identifying market strategies, messaging and positioning of clinical trial/study data management tools.
  • Deliver thorough market research and competitive analysis.
  • Perform strategic analysis from market research and present findings to the team.
  • Support the creation of a value proposition statement and a vision molecule containing high level goals for the product based on the previous research findings.
  • Validate product value proposition with user interviews and direct customer segment feedback.
  • Create and present a Product Pitch presentation with the support of the Director of Product Management
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions.
  • Produce quality results through collaboration and teamwork.

 

Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Current student or recent grad, from a technical discipline, e.g., Engineering, Science.
  • Tenacious about problem-solving.
  • Basic understanding of product management.
  • Creative and results oriented.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Able to adjust communication based on the audience when conveying information.
  • Interest in research.
  • Able to apply strategic analysis to develop insights, and rationale for recommendations.
  • Basic understanding of working in an agile environment.
  • Strong analytical
