Jennifer has served in a variety of HR roles for the past 22 years including HRD at the Institute for Systems Biology, the Girl Scouts, InDi and Landesa before starting her own company. She has experience working in biotech, academia, social justice, technology and government. She has been fortunate enough to have worked with teams on 6 continents, including California. She served on several professional, community and social justice BODs, founded several HR networking groups, websites and listserves, ran a highly unsuccessful HR-focused podcast, and taught HR subject matter at a variety of academic institutions. In addition to being really, really, really into HR, Jennifer has authored a travel book and a number of articles about travel, photography, and the modern workplace. Originally from Hawai’i, she holds a BA in Political Science and Ethnic Studies from UH Manoa and studied Public Policy at Johns Hopkins while working in the US House of Representatives before she decided to quit school, give up politics, drive a 1978 stick shift across country to make Seattle her home.
